DMC Endoscopy Center Receives National Accreditation and Recognition

DMC Endoscopy Center has been accreditated by the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). Accreditation distinguishes DMC Endoscopy Center from many other outpatient facilities by providing the highest quality of care to its patients as determined by an independent, external process of evaluation. DMC Endoscopy Center is the only facility of its kind in West Virginia to be certified by the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).

Status as an accredited organization means DMC Endoscopy Center has met nationally recognized standards for the provision of quality health care set by ASGE. “We believe our patients deserve the best,” stated Dr. Ratnakar. “When you see our certificate of accreditation, you will know that ASGE, an independent, not-for-profit organization, has closely examined our facility and procedures. It means we as an organization care enough about our patients to strive for the highest level of care possible.”

“Going through the process challenged us to find better ways to serve our patients, and it is a constant reminder that our responsibility is to strive to continuously improve the quality of care we provide,” said Debbie See, RN, Nurse Manager at DMC Endoscopy Center.

About ASGE: Since its founding in 1941, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) has been dedicated to advancing patient care and digestive health by promoting excellence and innovation in gastrointestinal endoscopy. ASGE, with more than 14,000 members worldwide, promotes the highest standards for endoscopic training and practice, fosters endoscopic research, recognizes distinguished contributions to endoscopy, and is the foremost resource for endoscopic education. The society serves the medical profession and the general public by providing education and information, and by developing and advocating responsible positions for the benefit of patients, the public and medical professionals. The ASGE provides a full range of educational courses, a peer-reviewed research journal (GIE: Gastrointestinal Endoscopy), and other publications, an annual scientific meeting (Digestive Disease Week), and a members-only and public education Web site (www.asge.org).
